Students can experience college before graduating from high school, exploring their academic interests and earning six college credits in three weeks. Program Dates
Saturday, June 29 - Friday, July 19, 2024
Residential students are housed on the main campus in one of the University of Miami’s residential colleges used by UM undergraduates during the academic year. Students have roommates and floormates who share similar academic interests. Trained residential staff live on the designated Summer Scholars floors with the participants to promote safety and wellbeing, and to create welcoming learning communities. Rooms are assigned by gender with male and female students on separate floors. We are an inclusive community. Accommodations are air-conditioned and include desks, beds and bureaus for two students. All residential areas are equipped with University Wi-Fi and all bedrooms are equipped with a port for wired connectivity. Study lounges, laundry facilities, and vending areas are located inside the residential college. Students have easy access to the University’s outstanding sports and recreational facilities.

The Commuter Program is for students who will live at home with parents or relatives in Miami-Dade or Broward County. Summer Scholars is designed for the enjoyment of all students. As part of the program, commuters attend classes, eat lunch on campus, and take part in program activities. Commuters who appreciate their experience most participate in evening and weekend activities. Activities give students time to bond with a diverse group of individuals outside of class and form long-lasting friendships. The individual student experience will be shaped by activity choices and level of engagement on campus.
