Latest information on COVID-19
As part of the University of Miami’s proactive response to the COVID-19 pandemic and to prioritize the health and safety of our community and the broader communities we serve, the Summer Scholars Program and the UM Academies will be offered in a remote format in summer 2020. This decision was made to reduce the potential spread of the coronavirus and guided by the recommendations of leading health officials.

The Summer Scholars Vista Scholarship focuses on broadening the number of traditionally under-represented students and increasing access to higher education for students from low-income families. Limited scholarship funding is available to eligible applicants applying for residential status in the Summer Scholars Three-Week, Credit Program.*

The scholarship award provides need-based financial support for high school sophomores and juniors who have distinguished themselves in and out of the classroom. In this precollege program, students have the opportunity to explore their academic interests and develop time management and interpersonal skills critical to their success in college.

Please note, the scholarship application for Summer 2020 closed March 1.
