Typical Day

A Typical Day at University of Miami Summer Scholars Program

Summer Scholars attend classes Monday through Friday, from 8:20 - 11:30 am, and 1:00 - 4:10 pm. Classes consist of lectures tests, quizzes, projects, homework, and a final exam.

Students may use their free time to work on class assignments, study at the library, swim at the campus pool, exercise at the Wellness center, explore the campus, or join evening and weekend activities.

 

Typical Weekday

  • 7:30 a.m.: Dining hall opens for breakfast
  • 8:20 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.: Class
  • 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Lunch with classmates at Hecht Dining Hall
  • 1 p.m. - 4:10 p.m.: Class
  • 4:10 p.m.: Free time - work on assignments, exercise at the Wellness Center
  • 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.: Dining hall is open for dinner
  • 8 p.m. - 10 p.m: Free time, evening activity/study break
  • 10 p.m.: Floor curfew, commuters depart campus
  • Midnight: Room curfew

Weekend Schedule

  • 6 a.m.: Dining hall opens - breakfast is served
  • 6:30 a.m.: Excursion (i.e.Key Largo snorkeling trip)
  • 11 a.m. - 1 p.m.: Lunch
  • 1 p.m. - 3 p.m.: Study/free time/activities
  • 3 p.m. - 6 p.m.: Soccer watch party
  • 4:30 - 6:30 p.m.: Dining Hall open - Dinner is served
  • 7 p.m. - 10 p.m.: Study/free time/activities
  • 10p.m.: Floor curfew, commuters depart campus
  • Midnight: Room curfew
